We are a group of small-to-mid-sized arts and culture organizations collectively advocating for equity in city funding in the arts for all Portlanders.

PACE is doing the following:

  • Advocating through direct city contacts, media, and other channels to restore equity as a core component of funding within the Office of Arts and Culture, regardless of overall budget constraints on total funding.

  • Working to ensure the Office of Arts and Culture does not seek funding that conflicts with our members' efforts—such as private or governmental funds being channeled through the city and as such allocated without agreed-upon criteria or transparent tiers.

  • Collaborating with like-minded groups advocating for increased arts funding that prioritizes equity and small organizations.

Group decisions will be made collectively by the cohort unless circumstances require broader input or a larger voting process.

Increasingly, we have been focused on connecting with orgs that should be receiving funding, not just those who have before. There are so many and only 80 receive funding, the money mostly goes to 5 orgs.
